I guess we like it a little soupier! We also missed the salt. It it did smell wonderful while it was cooking. I might try chicken broth instead of water next time and maybe a can of green chiles.

It needs the saffron to give you the real arroz con pollo color, and it had far too much liquid – the rice was very moist. Arroz con pollo is generally more al dente. If you go in with no arroz con pollo preconceptions, it’s a tasty rice dish that is very easy to make.

Loved the smell while it was cooking, love the colors and texture and flavor, with one exception. I thought it needs salt and pepper. I really miss salt in this. Other than that, it’s great.
