Hi, I don't think I'm going to wait for my current bio detergent to run out, I like the idea of making my own detergent, like everything else I guess I know what's going into it, I'm going to try mine with the original Marseille soap instead of the Ivory bar, hopefully it'll be just as efficient. Thank you for posting the recipe.

I have 7 kids and tons of Lauren. This stuff is great. I grate the pink Zote to give it a fresh smell. I will never buy regular detergent again.

I used the Fels Naptha instead of the Ivory soap. I love it! However, I just realized last night that I only used 1 bar of the Fels Naptha. I have been using this for about a month and LOVE it!

I just have to write again to say that I have used this since 12/31/2010, and even made another batch. I know there are a lot of recipes out there for this, but I really like this and will do my best to never "buy laundry soap again"!. It works wonderful in my front load machine....my whites are "whiter", everything smells great and is really clean! I can't wait for better weather, so I can dry stuff on the line. I am a real convert to this. By the way, I have used the powder with cold water, and it has worked very well.

I've been using this for a while and don't think I'll ever go back to storebought detergent. I grate the bar soap with the grating disc in the food processor and find the shreds break down quicker.

I've used this for a long time~the liquid form. I make it in a 5 gallon bucket and use 1/3 cup per load. It will not suds, nor will it have a fragrance, but if those are important to you, you can add a fragrance oil and glycerin to make it suds. It cleans better than anything I have used and a 5 gallon bucket lasts me 3 mnths. Cost $2.40. If anyone wants this recipe you can wire me or send a message.

I made this yesterday and am looking for things to wash :) I have a front loading machine and have always had too much sudsing. This takes a bit of getting used to, as there is no sudsing, but believe me, what has come out is clean and there is no residue. I am next going to buy some Fels Naptha to use on stains, and try to get rid of my pre-treat stuff! This is really great! Thanks so much to a housefulofboys for listing it!!!!
