These turned out so cute, and they were the perfect project for my four- and five-year olds to work on the day before Thanksgiving! My kids are soooo excited to share (and eat) these little turkeys today! We used royal icing and small paint brushes (like what you'd find in a Crayola watercolor set) to apply it. Worked great. (We did try inserting the candy corn into the center of Double Stuff Oreos as fatmom suggested, but it caused the cookies to split apart.)

Loved making these with my 5 year old!!! Love this recipe! Only reason I only gave it 4 oven mits, was because it takes a lot longer than the 10 minutes specified in the recipe (especially when you have a little helper)!!!

I made these with my 1st grade class when I was out in the field on Monday. It was so much fun! I am glad I was able to find this on here, so I can make this in the future!

I did this last year with my kids and we had a great time. I did see another way of attaching the candy corn to the oreos (for the feathers) that I think I'll try this year: use double-stuffed cookies, instead of the traditional size, and insert the tips of the candy corn in between the outer cookies, directly into the frosting center of the oreo. I think my girls will have an easier time with this method.

Otherwise, the project is terrific to do with kids and extremely delicious! Can't wait to get started:)
