Jared - Thanks for the link! I love Alton Brown! That's what I love about smoothies! You can throw just about anything in! I made this smoothie while I was pregnant. My husband thought I was nuts with the peanut butter!

Nick (blenderreviews) - I just have a 12 speed Hamilton Beach blender. I use it on the "smoothie" setting.

OH, and the best comment I have for all of these smoothie recipies is to just make them in a LARGE cup/glass and just use a stick/immersion blender.
Makes cleanup so so easy.
I actually prepare and drink it after I get to work in the little sink nook we have!

I make something similar to this based on Alton Brown's Buff Smoothie:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/buff-smoothie-recipe/index.html
It adds pomegranate juice.
Didn't have the idea of peanut butter though, that would be interesting!
I might start adding protein powder too.
I bought some milled flax, we'll see how that goes!

What kind of blender did you use?

There are two main types of smoothie blenders - masticating juicer or centrifugal types - I guess for breakfast the later one would be a good fit, since its fast to make smoothies.
