This was great! I wasn't quite sure how that much bay leaf would affect the taste of the blackberries, but made it according to the recipe anyway. I am so glad I did! The blackberry taste was still there and just as strong, but with a nice warm spicy note that complimented it very well. I didn't add the brandy to the finished juice, but added 1 tbsp. of brandy to a small punch cup then filled it with the hot juice. It was fabulous! It was spicy enough that I couldn't taste the liquor, but was in bed and out like a light in less than 30 minutes. A spicy, fruity, old fashioned cordial. Definitely a keeper! Thank you so much for sharing!
