I made these yesterday to give out on my Christmas
goodie platters that I give away. They are so cute.
I did taste one however and they are not very good to eat. Too waxy, yet I followed the instructions.
They are fun to make but messy.

I just wanted to say that I use paraffin because it gives the chocolate such a nice shine. It also seems easier to reheat if there is leftover chocolate. It's kind of old fashioned but it works for me:)

I haven't tried this, but it seems that you could just use chocolate almond bark to coat the cherries. It's easy to find and use, and you can melt it in the microwave--just be sure to use the defrost setting and follow the directions on the package. This is what I use to coat my Bakerella-style cake balls and it works like a champ. OR you might use those little candy melt wafers--then you could do them in different colors! Red and green Christmas mice, anyone?

sarahnew- Thanks for the link. My mom has been making these little mice for the holidays for about ten years now. She makes hers without eyes, and we always laugh and call them zombie mice. I like the eyes and nose better- it gives them a bit more character. My son just took a giant platter of mice to school today for his Xmas party. Kids gobble them up!
