I thought these were pretty yummy! I have been making the chocolate chip oatmeal cookies on this site for a while now and I needed a change. I loved the chewy nature of them! I used butter since I didn't have crisco on hand so they flattened out quite a bit, but other than the look of the cookies, they were delish :).

These are what I've been looking for! There are a few things that I think a chocolate chip cookie has to be...#1 a little on the salty side, #2 dense and heavy, #3 chewy and gooey inside. These cookies are all of those. I've been trying to find the right recipe for so long, and this is it! Thanks! (I also love it that there so easy, and they don't require butter, which is so expensive.)

These cookies are wonderful. I make chocolate chip cookies all the time with my kids. While I think mine are the best my daughter wanted to try something different. She chose this one and it did not disappoint. I think that that the extra vanilla and milk in this mixure makes it. She's right do not overbake them. Some of my family like nuts so we divided the mixture and added pecans and my, my, my it was even better.

@bmayer, on your question regarding creaming these, I've done both...I usually make a double batch of these, so I can't put it into my Kitchen Aid mixer. I mix it with a hand mixer or else a wooden spoon.
About the humidity thing...one thing I've done on occasion, especially when I'm baking these in the summer time and my kitchen is WARM, is mix the dough and then refrigerate it a few hours before baking, to firm it up.
Maybe that would work in FL as well?! Good luck!

My daughter made these (in NC) and they were WONDERFUL. I made them (in Fl) and they were "soggy/chewy, rather than crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The humidity? do you cream your butter/sugar by hand or with an electric mixer?

These are wonderful. Getting ready to make another batch right now - thought I might try Heath toffee chips in this batch. Also going to make one with chocolate chips and walnuts. Yum!

This is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've ever used! I baked them 9 min too, and they were really perfect. The hubby and kiddo loved them too, and unfortunately, so did my dog! She ate 5 when my back was turned.

I just made this recipe (with butter in place of Crisco) and it's they are indeed the best I've ever made!

I too left out the peanut butter chips (because we don't have them) and just doubled the chocolate chip count. Very chewy, VERY rich. Couldn't eat more than one!
