This cake is amazing! I’ve made it every year during strawberry season for the last 3 years and it does not disappoint. The sugar top adds just enough texture. I top with the macerated strawberries and fresh, homemade whipped cream.

I found this while looking for an easy Strawberry Shortcake recipe and after reading the reviews I decided to give this one a try. It did not disappoint! I brought it to some friends for dessert and everyone was commenting on how delicious it was. Honestly, the strawberries are so good with it, but I would be happy to have the cake with a cup of coffee. The sugar on top is an added plus! So good and so easy. I will use this recipe again and again.

As I was making this I hoped it would be good since it was so easy to make. Oh my gosh, it is so good and I’m so happy! I love strawberry shortcake and this shortcake is so easy but has the flavor of the more labor intensive individual shortcakes. I love the cakelike texture. It soaks up the strawberry juice and is just so yummy. Will definitely make this a lot the rest of the summer.

These shortcakes were delicious! I loved the extra sugar on top (though I didn’t use the entire 1/4 cup) and still didn’t think they were overly sweet. I also didn’t think they were too dense, the strawberry sauce soaked in perfectly!

Absolutely perfect! This recipe was quick, simple and turned out fabulous. I doubled the batch and baked it in a 9×13 pan. We love the sugar topping, all of us are having second helpings! Thanks for sharing!

This shortcake was delicious! I was looking for a quick and easy shortcake and this fits the bill. Couldn’t be easier. I think I’ll try with the cinnamon and nutmeg next time and maybe top with some peaches. Thanks for the recipe.
