I made this because I had some soft red delicious apples to use up and didn’t know what to do with them. VERY tasty cake, easy recipe and has a very nice texture. A winner of a recipe!

I made this for my daughter’s 1st birthday party. It was a big hit, even amongst the pickiest of eaters!!! I added a little clove powder and a little fresh ground nutmeg, because I wanted it to have a little more spice than called for. Thanks for the great recipe…I just might make this again for Thanksgiving.

This cake is wonderful! Definitely my “go-to” recipe for apple cake. Some of the other reviewers mentioned they added milk but you don’t need it, the batter is supposed to be very thick, the moisture from the apples loosens it up. I use the oats in the cake. Delicious!

I made two of these cakes last night. I made one with walnuts and one without and did not use the frosting. I was worried at first because of the large amount of apples compared to the amount of batter, but the cakes turned out wonderful! My husband brought the cakes to work this morning and they were a hit with all the guys in his office. (Next time I might try to cut back a little on the sugar and see what happens.) Thanks for the great recipe!

this is a really good recipe and it makes the kitchen smell so delicious! first off, i used 2 large granny apples and baked the cake in a 9×13 pan. i also added milk as another reviewer mentioned and it tasted great! the cream cheese frosting is perfect for the cake. i also left some of it without frosting and it also tastes great. i will defintely make this again. thanks!
