This recipe makes AMAZING chocolate chip cookies! Soft, chewy and delicious. After spooning out half of the batter I added some cocoa and vegetable oil to the remaining batter for double chocolate chip cookies, and the results for those were incredible as well. Highly recommended!

These were pretty good. I liked how soft and chewy they were but they seemed to be missing something. I’m thinking maybe it’s because I used plain shortening so I’m going to try it with the butter flavored Crisco next time I think that will help and maybe kick up the vanilla some. It’s a great recipe though and I’ll definitely save it but add those changes to it next time just to try!

These cookies are the BEST ever. They are the perfect combination of soft centers with crispy edges. I loved these so much (and thought they were so pretty, too) that I sent acrafton — the recipe adder — a picture of these delicious treats. =D _That_ is how good they are. Enjoy!

These were perfect! I’ve tried so many chocolate chip cookie recipes, even those that split the butter/shortening. But this is the first time I’ve made chocolate chip cookies that actually stayed soft.

Mine were a little flat, but I think that is just because I let my two 3 year olds help and we mixed it too long.

Fantastic!!! My husband kept telling me he wanted “soft and chewy” chocolate chip cookies. I can’t tell you how many recipes I’ve tried but none of them are what we’re looking for. I just made these and we have a winner!!

They are perfectly “soft and chewy”…they hold their shape too instead of flattening out while baking like some recipes I’ve run across.

My husband and I thank you for posting this.

I’ve been baking for 40+ years, and these are by far the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever made. Delicious!

Yum, Yum, Yum! Just made these and they are great. They look good, just like the fancy ones you see for sale for big bucks, and they taste even better. I’m trying real hard not to eat my third…er….fourth.
