Oh, my gosh. These were absolutely sinful. They are sweet, but they’re meant to be sweet. I used the Double Stuf Oreos and an 8×8 pan, which meant I had to add on 5 minutes or so to the baking time, but the result was thicker brownies that were done all the way through, and they were perfect. Next time I might add a little more cookie dough for fun, just to make that layer thicker, but they’re just fine as they are. Thanks for sharing this great recipe! These are now one of my favorite homemade brownies, and I will definitely be making them again soon!

These were incredible! And definitely on the sweet side, but that wasn’t a surprise. I baked them for a care package for my nephew, and he and his friends loved them. I had to use an 8×8 pan bc my 9x9s were occupied. This just meant that I had a little extra brownie batter and cookie dough left, and my brownies needed a few extra minutes in the oven. I used the extras to make a few mini slutty brownies in silicone cupcake molds.

can i only use baking powder and not use baking soda? this is because i ran out of baking soda

This is the first thing I made on Tasty Kitchen and it was very good. Makes a mess in the kitchen having to cook the butter on the stove top and what not, but the payoff was very good. I only used half the cookie batter as the recipe said and wished there was more cookie when I cut into it, but I was afraid to add more based on another review of it not cooking through. It was done cooking at about 25 minutes. I’m thinking this could be simplified with a roll of cookie dough, Oreos, and some Ghirardelli brownie mix if in a pinch.
