Also only used a cup of sugar and 3 cups of powdered sugar in the icing and they turned out just fine.

Would be yummy gluten free too.

Perhaps I’ll try a little less oil next time and add some more spices to give them more flavor.

I made them today for a lunch-get-together. I loved seeing the recipe, since I lived in Maryland and we would drive to Pennsylvania just for the good Amish cooking. Divine!
