Wow. My husband and I made this and it was really hard not to have a second piece right before we went to bed. We loved that it was so moist but not overly sweet. We actually used about twice as much cream cheese in the frosting and half the icing sugar and added a tablespoon or two of cream. Delicious! It just might become one of our favourite cakes.

I was looking through some of my mother-in-law's recipe and just made a very similar recipe to this a couple of days ago.

Her recipe did not call for baking powder, only had 1/2 t. of salt, and called for 1 1/2 t. of baking soda.

The frosting recipe is exactly like yours but the butter to cream cheese ration freaked me out so I used 8 oz. of cream cheese. I also thinned the frosting out with about 2 T of heavy cream.

This recipe was delicious, better the next day than out of the oven. My husband took most of it to work with him and everyone loved it!
