I’ve never had persimmons before so when I got two handfuls in a produce basket, I knew I needed to find some sort of sweet treat that called for persimmons. This is a wonderful fall recipe. My husband does not like cloves so I used Allspice instead. And I added some extra Saigon Cinnamon. Very tasty! Especially warm from the oven on one of the first cold days of fall in the desert. I will definitely be adding this recipe to my book of favorites!

These cookies were okay, nothing special. Just exciting to be able to use a persimmon. The cookies turned out cake like with a nice sweet spice flavor.

These are great, soft and chewy with that fall spicy-ness. I thought they might be too sweet with 1 cup of sugar, but they were just right. I didn’t follow the recipe for pureeing the persimmons (trying to save on clean-up) so there were some chucks, but they still tasted great!
