Very good cookies! My daughters (6& 4) helped me make these. Note that they 'grow' as they bake, so be sure they have a little space on the cookie sheet.

This is exactly what I wanted in a gingerbread cookie. I made the recipe very close to what was given and they are soft and wonderful. Thank you so much!

These cookies were excellent, quick, and easy! I personally would suggest using butter or margarine over shortening. Nonetheless, however you make these, they will be splendid.

Excellent, easy cookie! I chilled the dough overnight (covered) and it rolled out just fine. I got about 2 doz. meduim sized gingerbread men. plus scraps that I didn't re-roll (just baked the scraps). 6 min. at 350 was perfect for my hot oven. They taste wonderful, love at first bite!

These came out SOOO good! They are super easy to make and come out golden brown and slightly chewy. I rolled mine out fine and cut them in cute gingerbread man shapes - i got 24 of them out of this recipe! They are delicious and on the sweet side. I like very gingery gingerbread cookies, so next time I think I'll add some more ginger and cinnamin, but they are scrumptious as is.

Okay, I just have to say again, that I made a double batch (which made a lot) and it was gone in under a week, with only 7 of us home too!

These cookies were really great! Everyone in my family just loves them and they're almost gone, even though I just made them yesterday.

I gave them four stars because they really weren't very great for cutting out. We tried that, but they expand as they bake, so the shapes didn't stay and the dough was too sticky to get really great shapes.

But it was just as easy to flour your hands and roll a bit of dough into a ball and flatten it out--and tasted absolutely fantastic!
