The taste of these is very good but I am not giving it 5 stars because I had to make two batches. The first batch did not have enough cocoa powder and they turned out very light brown and more peanut butter tasting than chocolate. The second batch (to take to a friend) was much better because I added more cocoa powder. Overall, a good recipe that I will use again with my adjustments.

Just like I remember from when we made them in Bible school one summer! Just made them for a bunch of kids, Big hit!

I am making some today. They are a favorite in our house, the kids love to see these on the counter when they come home from school. Pefect for summer since it’s already close to 100 degrees here in Texas.

I used almond butter and regular whole milk because that’s what I have. I also added an additional tsp of cocoa and some dark chocolate almond spread (like nutella). I have a problem following recipes to the letter.

We use just regular milk in my recipe of these, but maybe that’s a regional thing. We LOVE these cookies — fast and easy and wonderful to take care of that chocolate fix!!
