Adore these! Have made them about half a dozen times now and they're always a hit. In fact they're one of my most requested desserts from family and friends. For my oven, I had to reduce the baking time to 8 minutes. And I found that the cookies are really hard to scrape off of the baking sheet. But after the first batch, I started using parchment paper underneath - now they peel off easily, and I don't have to clean off any hard blobs of melted candy from my baking sheets. Excellent recipe. :D

Amazing....made these for Mother's day as Momma loves all things lemon. They are so so good. I second the review above in that the candy is tough to crush....we had a movie on and needless to say, husband was not happy when I found the best method was to put the candy in a bag, wrap it in a towel and whack it with my wooden rolling pin. It worked, but it was loud and the bag of course ripped to shreds meaning sticky candy everywhere! However, more than worth it....these cookies stayed so moist and soft...the buttery lemony flavor with the tang of the candy is unbelievable!

Yes, Lemonheads do taste good in the cookie, but they ARE much more challenging to crush. Lemon drops are not too bad at all. I put them in a freezer bag, let out the air and zip it up and then hit them with mallet. It takes only a few minutes.

I made these for my daughter's bake sale at school. The recipe is easy, but I didn't find lemon drops at my local store and substituted lemon sours.

The cookies themselves were delicious; and I can only imagine how much better they would have been with the actual lemon drops.

The recipe was quick and easy to make with the exception of one thing: the lemon drops/sours. Because the candy I used was perfectly round and hard, it was almost impossible to crush. It scooted out of the wax paper package I tried first; didn't work when beat with a mallet, and I finally ended up having to crush them one.at.a.time in a garlic press. It took forever, because they were just sticky enough once crushed that they needed a knife to dig them out of the garlic press each time. I told my husband and daughter that I hoped they liked them since it would be the last time I made them.

Now that I've had a week to mull it over, I might try this recipe one more time with lemon drops to see if their slightly oval shape and rough surface makes it easier to crush and an easier process.

I rated them a 4 because if you are willing to take the time, they are quite delicious.

These were delicious and easy but they weren't quick. Unfortunately, I couldn't find lemon drops (I made these at the last minute for my daughter's school and ran to the exchange on base to pick up the candies), but I found lemon sours so I thought they would work close to the same.

They were perfectly round, which prevented them from being easily crushed - the scooted out of the waxed paper even though I had folded in the sides. I tried a few things and eventually had to use a garlic press to crush the candy one piece at a time. It took forever.

Other than that, they were really good and super fast to make.

These are such a hit at my house! I didn't have butter and ended up using oil. The cookies had a slightly different texture but were still a hit. Great recipe!!!!!

Used the glaze (with a little bit of added orange juice concentrate ) on yeast doughnuts. It was another hit.
