I halved the recipe and ended up making 18. I didnt have enough honey so i added a little white sugar to sweeten it up. It ended up being sort of dry but maybe that’s because of the sugar? Or maybe its because I used butter instead of shortening?

I made these today and they are great. They do have a cakey texture and are just sweet enough. I used local honey and feel like I’m eating something good for me! The next time I make these I might try half butter, half shortening and some whole wheat flour…

I loved these! I will definitely be making them again. They have a perfect cakey texture, and the honey flavor is great with the chocolate. I cut the recipe in half, and it made exactly 12 cookies, so the serving count is spot on. I also used 2 squares of semi-sweet baking chocolate that I chopped myself, because I didn’t have chocolate chips on hand. It worked just fine.
