Exactly as described: tasty, healthy, easy! For me personally, it was just a little bit too much straight banana flavor for an ice cream, but my kids loved it! Three bananas made more than we were going to eat in one sitting, so I used the leftover to make some treats for later. I broke grahm crackers in half, spread one half with a thin layer of peanut butter, and the other half with about half an inch of banana ice cream - relatively healthy ice cream sandwiches! I froze them in a single layer so the banana filling wouldn't all squish out, but once it was hard again I just tossed them all in a ziploc.

Oh. My. I think you just saved my summer diet. I was skeptical, but it's true: this really did sub well and fulfill my ice cream craving. Amazing! I did add a touch of milk in my blender to help smooth things along, and a little vanilla. Thanks for this!

I've been doing this for a few years too, though with a splash of milk added to make the blending faster (and sometimes a dash of cocoa, to make the eating faster :) ). My kids aren't fans but I love it!

I used really ripe bananas. It definitely had the ice cream texture, but as it "melts" you can tell it is just bananas. The kids loved it. Thanks for the recipe. Now I can use my ripe bananas for something other than fattening banana bread.

This is so easy! I saw this on SeriousEats.com. The recipe is also surprisingly versatile. Add some honey, almond slivers, or peanut butter, chocolate chips...and you've got yourself a whole new ice cream world

I am always trying to find healthy easy dessert recipes so this is perfect! I have never heard of doing this but I am excited to try it out! I usually find low-cal desserts that still involve sugar and milk and fruit but none like this... thanks so much!!
