This is the BEST pound cake I’ve ever had. Truly. Simple, delicious, a complete crowd pleaser! I served this at my sister’s fondue party, the cake was dense and held up to dipping well, no crumbs in the pot!

I don’t know if it would change the cake to substitute butter for the margarine. I would love to know if you try – let me know how it turns out. I noted in my blog post that I’ve never changed this recipe – just didn’t need to. Many people ask about vanilla. I’ve never added that either. No need to mess with perfection! Ha ha – happy baking!

This looks delicious! Could butter be substituted for the margarine without altering the integrity of the cake?
