Recipe was quick and easy, creamy and not as grainy as the last praline recipe I tried. Brought them to work and they disappeared quickly! Making them for a Mother's Day Tea favor. If any one has suggestions on avoiding graininess please let me know. This recipe is a keeper! Thank you.

Humidity affects a lot of candy making.
Also, unsalted BUTTER is always the preference. The salted butter only changes the saltiness of the recipe.
Really and truly, there's no reason to buy salted butter.

These really are easy an so good! I had previously tried making pralines using a recipe that called for a candy thermometer and ended up scorching them. No worries with this recipe, simply bring your brown sugar/butter/whipping cream mix to a boil for about a minute then remove and add your powdered sugar, vanilla and toasted pecans. My kids said they tasted just like the ones we get at River Street Treats when we're in Myrtle Beach, S.C. This will be my go-to pralines recipe. Thanks!

I'm almost sorry that I now know how to make these things at home. They are very, very dangerous, and WAY too easy. I took them to our family Fourth-of-July celebration, and my aunt described them as "just plain sin." They're not for the faint of heart, i.e., anyone without a good, strong sweet tooth and a stomach for rich desserts. Thanks for sharing this recipe--I'm afraid I'll make them again, many times!
