made this last night and it was so delicious! i cut the recipe in half and made muffins to cut back on the baking time. it made exactly one dozen muffins! cooking time was probably somewhere around 28-30 min (not sure exactly b/c i kept adding a few min here and there). also substituted plain greek yogurt for half the oil - still was very moist and flavorful!!

I love this recipe. My mother used to make it and take with her for the doctors she was seeing. When she passed away they thought I should still bring it to them -- -and I did for a long time!

This was the first time I ever made an apple cake and I was glad I did it with this recipe! I subsituted the eggs for eggbeaters and the salad oil with Safflower oil and applesauce. It was so moist and wonderful. I really enjoyed how much apple went into the cake. My little boys loved this cake too! Oh I did had a cream cheese frosting on top.

I bought a bag of Braeburns at the farm store yesterday, and sadly they were not as sweet as I'd hoped, so I sat down today and searchd this site for something to make with apples.

I am SO glad this was the recipe I chose! I absolutely LOVED it, and it got rave reviews from all of my family members. I will definitely make it again. DIVINE!!!

(I baked it for an hour -- it probably needed about 5 minutes more, but I didn't discover that until I cut into it.)

This is going to be a new favorite in my family! I made it for a pot-luck and topped it with a simple glaze flavored with apple cider. People went back for seconds and thirds of this!
I found it only needed about an hour of baking time.

Definitely a keeper...made this this afternoon and it's great, especially with a glass of milk. Crisp /crumbley on the outside, nice and moist on the inside. I used granny smith's because they're a great baking apple, and took it out after an hour. I didn't top it with anything, and don't really think it needs a glaze...it's more rustic without it. The batter is pretty thick, even before folding in the apples, so I mixed it by hand instead of using an electric mixer (since I don't have a stand mixer)
