According to the ingredients all that’s in custard powder is maize starch (corn starch), vanilla and colouring. So maybe you could substitute with an additional 3/4 of corn flour and perhaps a 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence? I have always done it with custard powder though so I can’t be absolutely sure!
