A nice simple recipe that quickly makes a batch of cookies. I'm not usually a fan of shortening in my chocolate chip cookie batter but this created a light texture that only added to the chewiness of the baked cookie. I think perhaps some more brown sugar or additional vanilla could be used as the dough has a very mild flavor. I baked my small mounds of dough for eight minutes and let them cool two to three minutes before removing from the baking sheet. Perfect. Yep, add-ins would only amp this up to even greater flavor, toffee bits perhaps?
