Pretty important to mix just until the dough forms – like the recipes says. I think I mixed too much because I couldn’t form into balls and so just “gooped” a tablespoon into the sugar and put in to bake. They came out very thin and did not set well.

Question: you stated 1 cup sugar then 1/2 cup sugar but instructed to place remaining sugar in bowl w butter… Is it 1 cup for mixture? Or 1/2 cup for mixture

I’m not a big molasses or spice fan, but I like store bought iced molasses cookies. I decided to try these and they were AMAZING!! I will make them over and over again! The whole family loved them! I even handed them out when we went Christmas Caroling! This is a new favorite in our house!

These are absolute perfection! Lots of spice, buttery and chewy. I cooked mine about 15 minutes and they were a lot darker than the photo, more like gingerbread color. They were crispy around the edges and chewy in the center. They were so easy and I can’t wait to make more to share at work!
