I love these! The first time I made them, they were a bit overbaked, but the flavor was still good. Now, I know to bake them about 20 min in my oven. I also use Stash Chai tea bags, and I use two rather than just one. I also use the ground ginger that you can buy in the produce section in the tube. Makes this recipe so easy to make.

Nika or anyone,
Can I use Chai tea syrup? I have a bottle of Torani Chai tea syrup and was wondering if I can add this to enhance the flavoring in addition to the teabags. Or should I leave the teabags out? How much syrup would work? Thanks!

I can't even tell you how many times I've made these. They are by far the biggest hit at parties, of anything I've ever baked. Making them again tonight for a game night!

As an employee for a popular, world-wide coffee shop chain, I make a lot of chai drinks. I'm not fond of the chai we use, but many of the baristas I work with love, love, love it. I made these for them, and they were a major hit! Moist, spicy, and so yummy...I was quite !impressed! These are a standard go-to recipe now, and I get many requests for them at work. Thanks, Nika!

The concept and flavour was good but they were not chewy or gingerbready enough for my liking and the husks in the wholemeal flour made me feel like I was eating tea leaves.

These bars were yum-ilicious. Flavor was very nice - subtle, not overpowering! Texture was perfect...crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside! And definitely better after being in the frig for a bit! Thanks for sharing!

Very yummy! I would add a little more chai next time as I didn't think the chai flavour really shined through. I also though they were a little too sweet for my taste but everyone I served them to raved about them so apparently that's just me. Shared the recipe with many family members this Christmas!

I used white whole wheat flour (King Arthur), 1/2 cup butter & 1/2 cup of shortening AND added 1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries and 2/3 cup chopped walnuts. And I topped with turbinado sugar. YUM! - would work as a coffee cake.

Thank you for the recipe!
