I made this today for a birthday (for someone who loves caramel) and it was delicious and very well received! The cake was nicely moist and the frosting was very rich. However, it did taste more like butterscotch than true caramel (which makes sense, since it's brown sugar based and has no caramelized sugar). Also, I think the notations on the butter are backwards--the cake requires the butter to be sliced but doesn't mention it, and the frosting does not require sliced butter (since the first step is to melt it in a pan) but says that it does.
