I have made this recipe several times and made it again last night. Sorry it took me so long to write a review.
YOU HAVE TO MAKE THIS RECIPE!
These "brownies" are so moist and full of flavor. Ridiculously good! And when it is cooking the smell in the house will drive you crazy.
Know that the batter is very, very thick and you have to spread it with a strong spatula. But it bakes beautifully. This dessert stands on its own, but you can serve it with ice cream, which is my son-in-law's favorite way to enjoy!
I cannot find the caramel baking bits. Will keep looking but may have to ask my grocery store to stock them. So it purchase the caramel squares in the candy aisle and took the time to cut them into little pearls of caramel. Flour helps in this process. I will not let this stop me from making this recipe again!

Made these yesterday and they’re amazing! Very moist and lovely apple flavor. I did not get as much caramel flavor as I anticipated though, maybe next time I will mix the caramel in the batter and see what happens; caramel can also be omitted and it would still be a great recipe. I used 2 1/2 cups of small diced apples instead of just 2 apples. Came out great! Thanks for the recipe! It will be going into my cookbook!
