I came across this recipe looking for a way to use up the last 1/2 cup of buttermilk in my fridge. I must admit I was a little skeptical about it as I'd never heard of Buttermilk Pie before, but I made it tonight and it is fantastic! My hubby loved it too.

It is very easy to make - just dump everything in a bowl and mix it up. The custard filling is so creamy and the thin crust that forms on top gives it just a tiny bit of texture. My husband compared it to creme brulee, and while I think it's slightly less creamy than that, the flavor is pretty similar - without the crunchy burnt sugar, of course.

I will definitely be making this again. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
