Oh my. This is quite yummy! I made a pan of brownies that turned out to be a little on the dry side, but I had already planned on topping the brownies with this frosting.

Needless to say, the frosting saved the brownies!

The top rack, in my oven, was about 6 inches from the broiler, which gave the frosting a little more time to brown. I also had a few pieces of foil ready to place on the hot spots, so the frosting wouldn't burn in those spots before the rest reached the proper color.

I will make this again, using a chocolate cake recipe, for sure!

Thanks for sharing,

I made a from scratch chocolate cake and did not have enough powdered sugar to make my regular "go to" icing for it. I got on Tasty Kitchen to see what I could make without powdered sugar and came across this. All I can say is, this is the best Peanut Butter frosting recipe, so easy to make, and tasted great even before putting it on the cake and broiling it! I agree, you have got to watch it, only takes a minute to bubble and brown so stay next to the oven with the door cracked and watch it closely. Thanks for a great recipe! Off to have a slice with a nice glass of milk...Mmmm!!
