We really liked these. Great way to use up some apples that I picked. After reading reviews, I did add a couple extra tablespoons of butter to the crumble mixture. Not sure if it made a huge difference but it didn't hurt. I also added some cinnamon and nutmeg to the apples for extra flavor and am glad I did. Not overly sweet but perfectly satisfying for dessert.

Very tasty. Loved the idea of apple crumble in bar form. Like periwinkle I will add some spices to the apple mixture itself.

Thanks for the great recipe.

Better than apple pie!! I was scared the flour mixture was too dry, so I added another half stick of butter. A little more brown sugar too. I didn't end up using all of the flour mixture in the end--I tossed about 3/4 C. I did eight small apples and it wasn't quite enough. I also did a little glaze with cream cheese icing and some of the leftover apple juice. This is a good recipe that I'm definitely saving.

Love these and so easy to make. I made them for out of town family and they loved them. I'm making them for my 3 and 4 yr. old Halloween party at school. They taste just like apple crisp. Thanks for the great recipe.

Delicious! They took me a little while to make because my knife skills aren't the greatest peeling and coring those apples. But the result was well worth it! I know they'd be even better with some Cool Whip on top. I would definitely make these again.

Would it be blasphemous to say I liked these better than apple pie ? I was fearful that they'd fall apart and wouldn't really cut into bars but they held together beautifully even warm. I used granny Smith apples with great success. Wonderful flavor, texture a stupendous fall treat!

I made this up after picking fresh apples this afternoon. It was the perfect treat to end the day. The bars weren't overly sweet, which was nice. The only thing i might to different is add some cinnamon and maybe a pinch of nutmeg to the apple mixture. Thanks for this easy and delicious recipe!

my husband's exact words were 'this is a keeper recipe'
I made them in a mini muffin pan (cooked for about 13 minutes). perfect 2 bites of apple cinnamon bliss...now if I could just stop at one.
