I found it a bit aggravating trying to slice the scones to put the berries inside. I ended up putting them all in the fridge except the one I was working on. That helped some. I put the icing on them soon after they came out of the oven and then of course I had to sample one. They were fabulous!! I didn’t expect them to be as good the next morning, but they were still delish! Reminded me of a poptart!

I have to say, that contrary to the review above, I loved the Strawberries in the center of these scones. They were not as dry as a traditional scone. Easy to make and a perfect breakfast treat for the weekend!

The fresh strawberries get a yucky texture when baked.
