This is delicious! I made it this morning and it is way better than store bought syrup(which I'm not crazy for)
It's sweet but not too sweet and I thought the maple flavor was perfect.
As far as the consistency, I thought it was perfect too. Not too thin and not too thick. I did boil it a little longer than 5 minutes (I forgot about it) and it didn't seem to affect the results.
Thanks so much for a great recipe. I'm sure this will be in my pantry from now on. :)

This is a copy of my comment. I wanted to make sure you got a rating for it too! This syrup is delicious!

I made this 2 days ago because I wanted to find a cheaper way to “buy” syrup. This is amazing! It was simple to make and tasted way better than store bought! I will say that the texture is very thin. I even left it on the stove a little while longer to see if it would thicken up but it never did. Honestly though, I can deal with the texture because it tastes so good and is so much cheaper than store bought (especially when you buy the ingredients in bulk, like I do). Thanks for sharing!

I prefer straight-up maple syrup on my waffles, but being out of it, I decided to try this. Although the taste isn't nearly the same, it's still very very good and definitely worth making again!

Thanks for this recipe! I was out of syrup this morning and remembered seeing it here. This was better than store-bought and is another great recipe to use the maple flavoring I bought for Ree's cinnamon rolls (also delicious!). Thanks again!

Thank you!!!! My search for a homemade syrup that everyone in my family enjoys has now come to an end!! I have been searching for almost a year and have tried many recipes--all of which my husband disliked. Until now. . . thank you again!
