Always add at least 1/2 lb sausage. Does not need to be challah bread – I’ve used various white breads. Also to up the creaminess sub part of the milk with evaporated milk. I discovered this by accident when I didn’t have enough milk and was halfway through making this. That day I really got great responses to it! LOL

This went over big at a brunch I brought it to. I did add a layer of cooked pork sausage also. What I also liked is that it froze well and reheated easily in the microwave so I treated myself to some yummy work breakfasts! Am making again today!
