While these donuts didn't have a notable apple flavor, they are really very delicious. My husband said we are going to call them Spice Cake donuts...because that is what they taste like. Easy to make. I am at 800 ft elevation and I baked them at 325 for 12 minutes. I got 16 donuts out of this recipe. My rodeo drill team devoured 10 of them right off the bat at practice today :)

This was a good and simple recipe to make. I was hoping for more of an apple flavor, the spices kind of overwhelmed the apple taste in my first batch. Also I'm at about 4000ft altitude and they were still almost raw when I baked them at 325 for 10 minutes. The second batch I made i caramelized some shredded apples on the stove with a little lemon juice and brown sugar and added that to the batter, I turned the heat up to 350 and baked for about 13 minutes, then I added shredded apples to the glaze, and they turned out out really well. Thanks for sharing!

This is a very quick and easy recipe.
All I had was cinnamon applesauce and it turned out great. I made some mini sized donuts and baked them 7 minutes.
My family loved them and the great fall flavor was wonderful. Added bonus: it's low fat!!

Noticed the omission of sugar too, so I checked on your blog (3/4 cup). Question though... if I don't have a doughnut pan, what else could I use as a substitute? Thanks!
