Excellent! Needed to make cornbread and did not have buttermilk for my regular recipe, so I pulled up this recipe and it turned out great. Served it with chili and will have it with black-eyed peas, too!

Perfectly sweet and cake-like while still being a hearty piece of cornbread. Used brown sugar instead of white. And 3/4 white flour with 1/4 whole wheat due to what was on hand!

Loved love love this recipe. I had a piece of sweet cornbread that tasted like cake a few months back and this recipe is the closest I have come to it. I did add 1 tbsp of brown sugar and cooked it in my cast iron skillet. Put 1 tbsp butter in your preheated skillet let melt then pour your batter in and at 350 bake for 18-20 in preheat oven.

This is perfect for us since we like a little sweetness in our cornbread. I skipped the honey and used a scant 1/2 cup of sugar. I also used buttermilk instead of milk- it was about 3/4 +1/4 cup water. Bake time was my only issue- it took a good 30 minutes to be done.
