These turned out great, though the large blister on my arm says deep frying is not my thing! It was fun to try something different and I definitely learned a lot about hot oil.

These were great!! I made them for dessert and they were a hit. I made the dough a couple hours before and left in in the fridge. I had some trouble rolling it out, but finally sprayed some non-stick spray on the counter and covered it with plenty of flour.

These are really good. I made them a couple nights ago my family loved them. Taste just like the ones you get at mexican restaurants.

These look very good,and sweet. Here in New Mexico we would leave off the cinnamon sugar. In NM,they are served with the meal like a roll.

Sopapillas are SOOOOO good. If you’re from Oklahoma, there is a restaraunt called Casa Bonita (they have one in Denver too). And the best thing about the restaraunt is that you can have all the sopapillas you want. And of course you have to eat them with honey and have it drip down your chin. Thanks for the recipe, they brought back such fun memories.

I’ve looked at the photo three times already, and couldn’t bring myself to type anything. I had to just revel in the memories of sopapillas at Grandma’s! I will be making these tonight.
