I'm a big fan of making banana nut bread and this was my first experiment with adding sour cream. The bread was super easy to make and is moister (is that even a word?) than my traditional banana bread.

My preferred method of eating is warm, with whipped cream cheese slathered on : )

I just made 4 large loaves and 4 small loaves today. This was so easy and very delicious. This will be our "keeper" recipe for Banana Bread! I have tried other recipes and nothing compares to this one.

I made this on Thursday. I cooked it in a Bundt pan because we just moved and I could only find one loaf pan. We also have a new (to me) oven that actually cooks accurately (imagine my surprise!); and that is why I got in the shower when there were still 30 minutes left and it got overdone. My fault. Our old oven was so sloooooooow...... regardless, I will make it again and watch it more closely because even overly browned, it was still good. Oh yeah.

I just made this bread.

It is delicious in flavor, and I would not have a problem adding the extra 1/4 C of sour cream like the above poster.

I did have to get it right out of the pans to cool, because at the minimum bake time of 40 it was getting pretty dark around the edges. I've not had any problems with other breads, so I just wanted to give a heads up.

Otherwise GREAT! Next time I'll sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar!

This is my recipe to the T except mine calls for 1/2 cup sour cream and I always, always, always add chopped walnuts and 1 T. cinnamon because I'm not such a banana fan. It would probably also be delicious with choc chips added. Hmm...might have to go try that now.

My first banana bread and it was sooooo simple. Very yummy to boot! I wanted to 1 1/2 the recipe but, yikes, I was outta flour.

The only thing I was wondering was you call for a "prepared pan" and didn't say how you would prepare it. I just "Pam-ed" it and it worked just fine. But I know some people like to grease or grease and flour, etc.

I'd never ever tried to bake anything from scratch before, until this recipe. It turned out SO good that my bake-from-scratch insecurities have been dispelled. Thanks so much!
