It’s a great topping that really is crunchy, and would be good on any type of muffin. I would have liked them a little more moist, but they have a nice flavor and really good topping. Followed the recipe exactly and figured I would cut the sugar down (per another reviewers idea) if they were too sweet. Unfortunately, even at the regular sugar amount they tasted kind of bland. However, they were easy to make which was great and they were very moist.

I made these with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup agave instead of a whole cup of sugar. I subbed half the flour for whole wheat flour. They were great and my kiddos loved them.

My husband, who can be somewhat picky about his muffins (doesn’t like them to taste store bought) raved about them and said, “make these again!”

Perfect balance of flavor and I love that all you need are kitchen staples and a can of pineapple.
