My family absolutely loves this bread! It makes a beautiful dough in the bread maker; perfect consistency (note: I needed to add a couple extra tbsp. of the hot water to help in initial kneading). This bread is perfect as toast or as a dipping bread for soups, etc., a very nice texture and taste. Thanks for the great recipe!

This is the best plain ole white bread recipe I've found! I actually cut the recipe down by a quarter (so 3 cups of flour instead of 4, etc.) because my bread machine works best with 1 1/2 lb. loaves. The bread was chewy, light, and yeasty-- just perfect! I don't care for the drier, dense texture that many bread machine recipes for white/french bread produce, but you have found the perfect balance with this one!

I made this bread yesterday, using leftover buttermilk instead of the water (warmed the buttermilk in the microwave). Also substituted 1/2 cup of the flour with whole-wheat flour. It turned out great , has a crisp crust (breadmachine set to dark crust), and was so fast to put together! Thanks!

I just tried this instead of my regular recipe, and it turned out fantastic! It has fewer ingredients, therefore it's less expensive. Thanks!
