I had 3 very ripe bananas and I was out of milk, buttermilk, yogurt or anything like that, so my regular banana bread recipe was out. I wanted to try a recipe with oats in it and while I didn't have any blueberries I decided to give this recipe a try. I did change/add a few things; I used 1 whole egg, I cup of oats and about 3/8 cup of applesauce, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/8 teaspoon salt, and sprinkled in some ground cloves and nutmeg too. I couldn't wait the 2 hours to let it cool completely before trying it, and it is pretty yummy. I think the blueberries would be good in it and maybe even raisins. Thanks for sharing this recipe, it was just what I needed and I didn't have to go to the store!
