These are delicious!! I made them several times and then adapted the recipe to make peach/white chocolate ones with fresh peaches. I added a little extra sugar to the peach as they are tart! Instead of using the drop method I spread the dough on the counter (heavily dusted with flour) using flour on top just enough to get a nice rectangle formed. I then dusted the entire rectangle with sugar, cut in pieces, moved to cookie sheet and baked for 25 minutes!

I think it is supposed to be baking powder. If you read the preparation instructions, it says to combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Just a typo on top that was fixed in the bottom! I would try them again with baking powder

I'd love to try these as there is a place near us that sells Saskatoon Berry White Chocolate scones (like a blueberry). Any suggestions on how much baking soda there should be? Or maybe is it meant to be baking powder?

I also made these (without first reading the reviews), and they were not good at all. I agree about the amount of baking soda...I wondered at the amount as I was making them and it was confirmed when I tasted them. I threw the whole batch away. So sad...

Hmm... I really can't imagine what went wrong that would give it a bad taste. Did you use self-rising flour? 'Cause that might do it.

Sorry they didn't work out for you!
