I am from Texas so I don't understand the concept of sweet cornbread. This is the only cornbread recipe I have ever known and I have never seen the same recipe any where else. The only difference is I use bacon drippings rather than cooking oil. I have made it so many times, I can throw it together in my sleep . And trust me when I say, it is wonderful when its time for Thanksgiving dressing too! It may not be for everybody but if you want good down home cornbread, this is the recipe to try.
