I'm practicing recipes for Xmas Eve Apps so I just cut this recipe in half...It was fab. I fried up six and then made up the rest for the freezer. I always hate frying things, but this was really was quick and easy. What makes this a great recipe is that it is so adaptable. I added a little green onion and used jalapenos. Mine were spicy! I had a new deep fry/candy thermometer that I was wanting to try out. I used the five setting on my stove and the oil was ready at 300 degrees for me instead of the usual 350. What a great recipe!

I made these for my husband to munch on while I made dinner tonight. They were a huge hit! I followed the recipe exactly, but I put the filling in a big plastic bag and used that to pipe it on to the middle of the wrappers. I'm not normally a fan of jalapeno "poppers" but these were awesome.

The ones I didn't fry up tonight I popped in the freezer to use soon.

Thanks! This is a keeper!

I bought all the stuff to make this EXCEPT the wonton wrappers. Sheesh! However, I had a couple of tubes of refrigerated crescent rolls and I spread some of the cheese mixture onto the crescents, rolled them up, baked them 10 minutes and they were FABULOUS! I'm going to try them this weekend with the wonton wrappers! Thanks for the great recipe!

another note here...I changed the "serrano" to "poblano", I was mistaken. The serranos will probably be a little too spicy for most folks. The poblano is the kind of chili that they usually use for rellenos. They have a great flavor, a nice sub for jalapenos.
Sorry about that!

I really like them a lot.
Thats what I prefer to use to jalapenos.
hope that helps you!

Does a Serrano taste similar to a jalapeno? I can't find any jalapenos in Holland and I'm desperately needing a replacement!
