Works perfectly with or without staples. So much better tasting and an economical way to enjoy popcorn!

Perfect for making a small amount of popcorn to snack on. I left out the oil because I prefer to drizzle the cooked popcorn with a little melted butter or olive oil. I also just rolled the bag down, rather than staple it closed.

I make it this way alll the time and its great. I actually do it more like an air pop style though without the oil and it still turns out yummy. Instead of the staple you can simply tightly roll the top over on itself a couple times and that will hold as well. I have only busted the bag once and that was because I added a little too much popcorn…..oops….

Its so easy to make and I love that I am able to control what goes into my popcorn. I do the one staple in the middle of the bag and I have had no problems. I have lost count of how many times I have made popcorn this way……

My SIL just shared this sight with me and I LOVE it!!

I make popcorn the “old school” way. On the stove in a pan with oil. I am not a huge fan of store bought microwave popcorn but when I saw this recipe I had to try it. Just made it a little bit ago and it turned out fantastic! I’m actually snacking on it as I write this review!

I went with 1 staple in the middle and it worked perfect. No sparking or streaking. Can’t wait to try adding the other flavoring suggestions!

We did this last night and it was a hit. We used two staples with no problems whatsoever. No sparks. We did try the sugar one, yum, and then tried it with I can’t believe it’s not butter spray and sugar and it burned the bottom a little. I think I will add more of it next time or real butter. Thanks this was fun, my kids loved it!

My grandpa used to make popcorn this way, only he loosely tied the bag shut with cotton string. The steam from the popcorn could escape while the kernels and popped corn stayed in the bag. I was making the popcorn one day while he was out — the only thing I could find was a spool of his fishing line. Note to self: plastic melts when heated! *grin*
