I've been making a variation of this recipe for years and I absolutely love it! It's great to bring to potlucks to be served with the other savoury appetizers; people are very pleasantly surprised by it.
I pump the whole thing up a little by stewing some of the fruit a little with a 1-inch piece of fresh ginger (finely diced) and 2 tbsp or so of cinnamon. Once I even threw in 1/8 tsp of cayenne for extra spice. At the end when it's cool I stir in the remaining chopped fruit to keep the chunky factor high.
And for anyone interested in making this recipe: use whatever fruit you have on hand, it really works with absolutely ANYTHING!
