We grew up calling them Wheatie cookies (and the recipe calls for 6 cups of them too!). Supposedly my mom got the recipe from her high school or jr high cooking class. Whenever I bring them up I get scorned but it’s my turn to mock when they are all gone within a few minutes of whatever function I bring them to. My mom still makes these and mails them to my family and I every so often- it really is a way of saying “I love you”.
