I just made this and then put my own twist on it. I've been missing the particular hot sauce from one of the mexican restaurants I used to go to. We moved away and well...
I took part of the recipe, added in some fresh tomato, some tomato paste, cilantro and lime juice. That put it over the top and I'm now happy.

I just tried this and WOW. Love it, but I did put my own spin on it, well, added a couple more ingredients and now I'm officially in love with the sauce.
I added a Roma tomato, a small handful of cilantro, juice of one lime and since my DH said it was a little thin at the point. I added about a tbsp. of double concentrated tomato paste. That sent it over the top. Thank you for the recipe, I've missed being able to get this sauce at any of the restaurants where we live now. I'm a happy camper.

I just finished making this...it's been in my saved recipe box since you posted it. It's sooo hard to find tomatillos in our commissary. We are stationed overseas and we pay about $6 a pound for tomatillos when they do bring them in. Well I saw them today and oh my goodness this recipe is fantastic! I added the bunch of cilantro to it because we love cilantro. Definitely going to keep using this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing it!
