I learned that Barenjager is not a whiskey. I used the wrong stuff! But it was still delicious and everyone loved it anyways. I added some agave nectar since I didn't have any honey at home. I'd make it again even if i can't find the Barenjager.

I just made the cocktail sauce for a party I'm attending tonight but haven't gotten to marinating the shrimp yet. I had a hard time finding the Barenjager in my small town but did find Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey. I'm not sure if this is an appropriate substitute. Now that I'm taking a closer look at the bottle, it says "Honey Liqueur blended with Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey." Is the Barenjager more of a thick honey consistency? This is liquid. I don't want to proceed with the shrimp if I need to go find something else. Any suggestions??
