I served these in 2 shifts for a large crowd at our housewarming. I am not exaggerating when I say they begged me to make more. When I put the 2nd plate out, everyone crowded around the table and I heard my 4-year-old saying, "Excuse me, Excuse me! I NEED BACON!" You have to add these to your menu.

I've made these for years now but I don't use the butter, the bacon provides enough fat and grease for these tasty little bites :)

Nice idea, terrible recipe! The cooking times are all off. If you follow the times in the recipe you end up with limp bacon swimming in fat. The recipe is way too sweet and the result is almost "candied". Thanks to a different review, I knew the cook times were off so I adjusted how I cooked.

Either try a different recipe or cook the wieners and bacon by themselves at 400 degrees until the bacon is crisp. Then pour off most of the bacon grease. You'll end up with about 3/4 cup fat! Then melt the butter and brown sugar in a microwave, mix well and spoon a tablespoon or so over each. You likely won't use all of the butter/brown sugar mix unless you want to end up with candy. Bake at 400 until bubbling throughout, about 10 minutes. If you cook too long you will end up with toffee.

These were super easy to make and don't take that long to cook. Made them for Harvest Party tonight and I put them in crock pot after they were cooked to keep warm. Everyone liked them. Will be making them again soon.

I found your recipe on Pinterest, and I knew it would be perfect for Super Bowl Sunday! To say they were a hit would be putting it mildly - everyone raved about how delicious they were! I baked them at 375 for 15 min, then turned it up to 400 and baked for 10, but the bacon wasn't quite crispy enough for me. So I popped them back in the oven for another 10 min and they were perfect! The brown sugar/butter mixture does seem a bit soupy when they first come out of the oven and everything is bubbling, but let me tell you once they cool down a bit that mixture turns into a heavenly glaze for the smokies and they just melt in your mouth! I will definitely be making these again.

These looked SO good but they came out with a lot more soupy sauce then the picture shows. All of the other recipes similar to this only use 3/4c brown sugar and omit the butter. I liked the idea of having the caramelized sauce BUT it was just way too much. Next time I'll have to try cutting the amount of butter & sugar in half. I don't know how to save this batch though, I'll have to drain it for sure.
